A stepdad has sadly died whilst trying to save his daughter from being electrocuted whilst she was in the shower at their home in South West France.
According to reports in France, the 32-year-old man and his 9-year-old stepdaughter sadly died when a current was sent through the bath at their home.
It is understood that the man tried to pull the young girl from the water after she was heard screaming by her mother.
Police investigating the incident which occurred in Arvert, say the girl’s mother, 29, rushed in to pull her daughter from the water – also suffered severe burns when a current was sent through the water.
It is believed the man who then rushed into the room after his wife was electrocuted whilst trying to lift the girl from the tub.
Despite managing to switch off the power, the frantic mother and wife was sadly unable to revive the pair.
Although police are still investigating the tragic incident, they say they are unsure how the incident occurred.
But believe the accident may have occurred due to construction work being done at the property.
