
In what can only be described as scenes either from Christmas week or the January sales – thousands of people queued up today outside supermarkets to get their presses stocked back up.
In Blanchardstown, hundreds queued outside Tesco to get supplies after the Beast from the East and Storm Emma prevented people from leaving their houses for three days.
One shopper told The Liberal:
“I haven’t been out since Tuesday. Big shortage of bread and milk in our house so even though it was a bit slippy and I didn’t want to have to leave the house today, I decided I had to venture out. By the looks of it, half of my area decided to do the same.”
