Storm Isha claims three lives including a woman in her 20s who died in County Louth




Three people have lost their lives on the roads due to the stormy weather on the island in the past 24 hours.

According to RTE, Storm Isha struck the country over the weekend, leaving tens of thousands of homes and businesses without power.

High winds with gusts of 133km/h to 137km/h were recorded in counties Donegal and Galway.

Tragedy struck County Louth where a woman in her 20s died in a crash. She was a passenger in a van which collided with a tree in Carnalogue, near Louth village, around 1:50 am. The driver, a man in his 20s, was taken to Our Lady of Lourdes Hospital in Drogheda with non-life-threatening injuries. The road was closed for a technical examination, and local diversions were put in place.
