The corporate media in the United States is being mocked after blatantly switching from non-stop negative coverage of the Presidency of Donald Trump to fawning and positive coverage of Joe Biden and his administration.
The Media Research Centre (MRC) reviewed broadcast networks, ABC, NBC and CBS coverage of the two presidents for the first three months of their presidencies.
“During his first three months in office, the broadcast evening newscasts have showered Biden with 59% positive press. Four years ago, those same programs were hammering Trump with 89% negative press — a stunning contrast,” the MRC found.
Throughout President Trump’s tenure in office corporate media outlets pushed conspiracy theories such as the debunked Russia hoax and go nowhere scandals with dubious quotes from anonymous sources but has now entirely reversed tack since Joe Biden took office in January.
Donald Trump himself has remarked about Biden’s recent fall up the stairs on Air Force One saying that it was a Republic the media would never let it go.
Still others have pointed to the ongoing humanitarian disaster on the US-Mexican border which has garnered little interest for media despite the fact it would have been an international scandal if Donald Trump still occupied the White House.
