Fans of the hit movie Grease could be in for a treat as reports in the US have revealed that a prequel to the timeless classic is in the works.
According to The Hollywood Reporter, Paramount Pictures are currently in the early stages of developing a prequel to the 1978 movie, entitled ‘Summer Loving’.
It is reported that Paramount are keen to complete the project and have enlisted the help of John August (Aladdin), to write the script.
Although no specific details have been revealed about the potential prequel, The Hollywood Reporter say its story will revolve around the fling between characters Danny Zuko and Sandy Olsson that is mentioned in the hit song “Summer Nights.”
Talk of a prequel comes 41 years after the hit movie starring John Travolta and Olivia Newton-John became a cult classic earning over $400m at the box office.
