The man accused of carrying out Saturday’s mass shooting in Texas has been identified as 36-year-old Seth Ator.
Ator killed seven people and injured twenty-one after engaging in a shooting spree across two Texas towns on Saturday afternoon. He was shot dead by police.
Records show that Ator was arrested in 2001 for a misdemeanor offence, which would not have precluded him from legally purchasing firearms in the state of Texas.
The incident is the 38th mass shooting (defined as events with three or more people killed by gunfire) in the United States so far this year.
