The Taoiseach Micheal Martin has said that over 50,000 people have registered for their Covid-19 vaccine via the vaccine portal.
In a tweet the Taoiseach said:Â Â “Hugely encouraging to see so many people now so close to their vaccine first dose.”
The Taoiseach’s comments come after the portal was opened to 69 year olds on Thursdays, whilst it opened for 68 year olds on Friday.
It is expected that people aged 65 to 69 will be able to get their first dose of the vaccine over the next few weeks.
