Taoiseach Martin? Fine Gael agree to meet Fianna Fail to hold a one day policy exchange next week

Fine Gael and Fianna Fail have agreed to hold a one day policy exchange next week following contact between Leo Varadkar and Micheal Martin on Wednesday.

Housing, climate change, health and cost of living are on the agenda for the day to form a possible government coalition.

Both leaders, Leo Varadkar and Micheal Martin both agreed to meet again after this initial meeting. It’s certainly a very interesting developing. Next Thursday’s Dail sitting will not have a vote on Taoiseach as last week was far too fruitless.

It’s looking increasingly likely that there could well be a government coalition between Fianna Fail and Fine Geal.

Micheal Martin said that it was Fianna Fail’s best option is to move into talks with Fine Gael. However, Fine Gael said after a parliamentary party meeting and Varadkar said that he intends to lead his party into opposition with little movement for a policy for government.
