The Taoiseach Micheal Martin has said that the country’s vaccination programme is working.
Speaking about moving forward, the Taoiseach said that Irish people have worked very hard to surpress the virus.
He went on to say that the vaccine programme is working in terms of cases and the mortality rate amongst those in the vulnerable groups and healthcare workers.
However he did warn that Ireland still has some way to go, but the increase in vaccine supplies over the next quarter.
