Taoiseach to meet British Prime Minister Boris Johnson for crunch Brexit talks later today

The Taoiseach Leo Varadkar and the British Prime Minister Boris Johnson are to meet later today to discuss the possibility of a Brexit deal.

In a meeting arranged earlier this week, the Taoiseach will travel to the Northwest of England in an effort to speed up negotiations before the looming October 31st deadline.

Although no details of what will be discussed at the meeting have been revealed, it is thought that the pair will discuss Britain’s recent proposals for withdrawl agreement.

The meeting comes after the pair had a 40 minute phone call earlier this week.

It is expected the meeting will get underway at lunchtime today, however the Taoiseach has warned that Ireland will not accept a deal at any cost but there is a desire to get a deal done.
