The Taoiseach Micheal Martin has called on the public to stay at home and limit their social contacts.
In a tweet the Taoiseach said that it was more important than ever that each and every one of us does what is being asked of us.
He added that we must protect the vulnerable in society and those on the frontline.
With Covid case numbers rising rapidly, it’s more important than ever that each and every one of us does what is being asked of us.
