Varadkar: January is the month when we all stay in – we’re not ruling out much harder restrictions if necessary

The Tanaiste, Leo Varadkar was speaking to RTE News and said that: “he message is very clear, it’s to stay at home, January is the month when we all stay in. Stay at home unless you need to go out to work for essential reasons”.

Many now claim that the harsh strictions, which are due to expire on January 31st, will go on far beyond that date, possibly until the end of March.

Meanwhile, the Deputy Chief Medical Officer Dr Ronan Glynn said that everyone needs to act like we’re back in last March. Glynn said that people need to stay at home, they basically can’t do anything and that they must do everything they can to work from home if at all possible.

Glynn was very concerned with the almost 5,000 new cases of covid that were confirmed by the Department of Health on Sunday evening.
