The Taoiseach Leo Varadkar has sent a very stern message to the Irish people, we have done a lot but there’s more to be done.
He thanked the people of Ireland for all that they’ve done so far but said that we need to do more to help the health workers.
Varadkar said that because of the measures, we have slowed the spread of the virus considerably but unfortunately we have not stopped its spread. He said that we cannot be complacent.
The restrictions will be extended for a further three weeks until at least Tuesday May 5th but that there’s no guarantee that the measures will be lifted at that stage.
No one knows for certain when normality will happen again or how our lives will be the same or different.
He said that your help will save lives. Think about each other before we think about ourselves, nothing great can be asked from us.
