The taxpayer will be hit with a bill of around €10m to pay for the security arrangements around US President Donald Trump’s visit to Ireland, it has emerged today.
The massive security operation includes the presence of a US Navy submarine and surface warships just off the west coast, the deployment of Irish Armed Forces units, and other undisclosed assets.
Donald Trump is likely to spend most of his time at his hotel in Doonbeg, but it’s understood his wife Melania may decide to go sightseeing.
