The HSE’s latest blunder has seen the bumbling organization informing forty patients that they ‘may have contracted tuberculosis’ during a recent hospital stay.
It is understood that the patients recently attended University Hospital Limerick, where they spent up to 12 hours waiting for blood tests and other procedures.
It recently emerged that the Government is to scrap the TB vaccination program because of outdated stocks. According to sources, the HSE could not find alternative suppliers, even though their British counterparts were able to source the vaccine elsewhere.
