Teenage girl gets impaled on fence in ‘freak accident’ at park

A teenager was seriously injured in an “accident” that horrified onlookers near Kensington Palace on Saturday night.

She was reportedly stuck for some time before firefighters and paramedics came to her aid in a London park.

After firefighters extricated the girl – believed to be 17 – from the iron fence, she was taken to a major trauma center at a nearby hospital, reports Metro.

Two eyewitnesses, who arrived at the horrific incident, said: “A young girl had been impaled on the wrought iron fence. She was surrounded by firemen and paramedics, our first thought was that we hoped she was ok. It was a freak accident… a lot of people have a few drinks and try to climb over those fences,” reports Metro.

The witness said another bystander told them the woman was 17 years old and heard firefighters using machines to cut the fence.

They told The Sun: “We feel horrible for the girl but it seemed like she was getting the right care,” reports Metro.

A spokesperson of the London Ambulance Service said: “We were called to reports of an incident in Hyde Park near Bayswater Road. We sent an ambulance crew to the scene. We treated a teenager at the scene before taking them to a major trauma centre,” reports Metro.
