An 18-year-old man has been arrested following an armed siege at a house in Minane Bridge, close to Kinsale in Co Cork.
Gardaí were called at around 10.30pm last night.
The Garda Regional Support unit was also alerted, after it emerged that a man inside the house was in possession of a shotgun.
Garda negotiators made contact with the man, who gave himself up in the early hours of this morning.
The young man is currently being held at Bandon garda station under Section 30 of the Offences Against the State Act.
