Authorities in Australia have arrested a 19-year-old man after he ran over and killed 20 kangaroos.
According to reports in Australia, the teenager was arrested after the 20 kangaroos including two Joeys were brutally ran over in the town of Tura Beach, New South Wales on Saturday night.
Police investigating the incident say they believe that man ran over the kangaroos in his truck between the hours 10:30pm and 11:30pm on Saturday night.
They say although 3 Joeys were rescued following the incident, a number of locals were left horrified to find the kangaroos bodies on a number of local roads.
The act which has been described as senseless and just pure slaughter has resulted in the teenager being charged with severe animal cruelty and torture offences.
If found guilty the man could face up to five years in prison and face a fine of $22,000.
