The world No. 1 tennis player, Novak Djokovic has been slammed in sporting media after flung one racket into the crowd and completely smashed another during an aggressive on-court meltdown at the Monte Carlo Masters.
Djokovic has been called-out before for shouting in what he described “as just the direction of the ball boy, not the ball boy himself”, but this latest outburst has definitely lost him fans.
He got broken by Germany’s Philipp Kohlschreiber in a match which he eventually went on to win.
But the winner of this year’s Australian Open left a dark shadow on court after he obliterated the frame of his racket after hammering it into the clay three times.
He then threw another racket into the crowd out of frustration.
Fans posted on social media “he is a very bad sport. There are children, even in his own country, who can’t afford a tennis racket yet he smashed his. It’s a disgrace”.
Djokovic was booed by fans when he broke his head racket during the first outburst and booed after he won and was walking off court.
