Tensions were high in Mosney holiday camp where migrants were extremely angry over how staff were treating them in the direct provision centre.

Many social media users had claimed that the migrants had no right to be angry over how they’re being treated as 10,000 Irish people remain homeless on our streets.

Things got a bit nasty after migrants at Mosney Direct Provision Centre have held a demonstration over how they have been treated.

It is understood that the group prevented management from entering the premises in a demonstration held outside the centre this morning.

The protest came after residents voiced their disapproval at conditions following the transfer of a woman and her two children to a centre in Co Cavan.

It is believed residents voiced their concerns after the woman who was transferred to a different centre in Co Cavan was left upset when she was denied the chance to return to the Mosney centre.

The woman who arrived in Ireland two months ago reportedly appealed to stay in the centre due to her son’s health issues, and believed she had better resources there.

However despite her initial request being denied, it has since been revealed she and her two children have returned to the centre since.

Protesters said the demonstration was held as they are in fear of speaking out to management at the centre as they fear they may be transferred to a different centre.

Meanwhile, a member of staff confirmed to The Liberal that tensions were eased and that both staff and protesters had come to an agreement over how such transfers would take place in the future and how migrants will be treated.
