Tesco issues statement after footage appears on social media showing a horse in Finglas store

Tesco staff working in Finglas recently were left rather bemused when a customer decided to bring a horse into the supermarket.

In a response to the footage being shared on social media, Tesco say they were forced to remove the horse from the Clearwater premises on Wednesday night.

The footage which has since been shared widely, prompted Tesco to make a statement regarding the incident.

In the statement a spokesperson Tesco Ireland said that the horse wasn’t on the premises for long as it was quickly removed from the building by security staff.

They also moved to reassure customers by stating that the animal wasn’t near any fresh food products that were on display.

Meanwhile the DSPA has condemned the footage, saying that the animal should not have been brought into a public area as it could have easily gotten spooked.
