The results for an Ebola test done on a patient currently being held in isolation at the Royal Victoria hospital in Belfast will be made public later on this afternoon.
The man, who already tested positive for malaria, is understood to have traveled through West Africa in the recent past. An Ebola test was also carried out as a precautionary measure, and the results will be known later.
Hospital sources have confirmed that there is no ‘increased risk’ for the wider public.
