
Authorities in Thailand are searching for a suspect seen in CCTV footage leaving a backpack near a Bangkok shrine who thy believe is responsible for bombing which killed 22 people.
The man wore a yellow T-shirt, shorts and sandals and had shaggy, messy hair of a dark colour. He enters the area wearing a backpack. CCTV then shows him sitting down against a railing and silipping the bag off his shoulders. The bag is left underneath a bench at a busy junction.
The man then walks away holding a blue plastic bag and what appears to be a mobile phone. National police chief Somyot Pumpanmuang said the suspect could be Thai or foreign.
Royal Thai Police spokesman Lt Gen Prawut earlier said the man “is a suspect” and had released several photos of him on social media.
