Drogheda Fire Brigade were called to scene of a fire at a Paddy Powers bookmakers in the town this afternoon.
It is understood that the fire broke out in the shop located in the Boyne Shopping Centre on Bolton street in the town at approximately 1.45pm. A spokesman for Drogheda Fire service has said that thankfully no was injured in the blaze and all staff vacated the shop immediately.
Although there are reports circulating that the fire caused significant damage to a pet store close by and the smoke from the blaze killed a few animals believed to birds.
