Despite a popular support that currently stands at 8% (6%, according to some polls), the Irish Water fiasco, and the quasi-certainty that Labour will soon cease to exist as a political force, Minister Alan Kelly has today boasted that the party will win “well in excess of 15 seats” in the coming election.
Mr. Kelly thinks that the work of “some incredible individuals” will somehow help the party to pull off this amazing portent in the coming weeks.
Labour won 37 seats in the 2011 election, but this is now reduced to 33 due to some high profile resignations and defections to other political entities.
The minuscule support for Labour will ensure a quick back door exit for all its representatives come election time.
