Foreign Minister Simon Coveney of Fine Gael is visiting the town of Bucha, where the alleged killing of civilians by Russian forces has been widely condemned.

The minister conducted a tour of the city, including the site of a mass grave.

Previously, Coveney told RTÉ’s News at One that the area was devastated and its people devastated.

He said that Bucha is to kyiv what Sutton is to Dublin or Carrigaline is to Cork. He said that it’s a great city but that it’s completely devastated and if someone tells me that this is not a crime or a crime against humanity, I need to be convinced of that.

Coveney added that Ireland ensures that there is an international legal infrastructure capable of fully investigating all these crimes.
