“They’re fleecing us” – New toll charges are now in effect including Port Tunnel and M50

New toll charges are set to take effect on several motorways from Thursday morning, reports Breaking News.

The Dublin Port Tunnel toll will rise by €1 for southbound vehicles travelling between 6am and 10am on weekday mornings, reports Breaking News.

Additional toll increases apply to the M50, where drivers will pay an extra 10 cents, unless they are using a car without a tag or video account.

For M50 heavy goods vehicles (HGVs) over 10,000kg, those with a tag and video account will see a 10-cent rise, while unregistered HGVs without a tag or video account will face a 20-cent increase, reports Breaking News.

The M4 Kilcock to Kinnegad and M3 Clonee to Kells motorways are also subject to a 10-cent increase, which takes effect immediately.

There will be no increase for cars using the eight PPP toll roads, including the M1, M3, M4, N6, M7/M8, M8, N18 Limerick Tunnel, and N25 Waterford, reports Breaking News.

The tolling system at the Dublin Port Tunnel is designed to control demand during peak periods and to ensure HGV access to and from Dublin Port is not disrupted by added traffic or congestion, reports Breaking News.
