Thousands of residents in Co Tipperary left without drinking water this morning after a kerosene spillage is uncovered




Thousands of residents in Co Tipperary have been urged not to drink any tap water due to contamination.

It is understood a notice has been put in place, after a kerosene spillage occurred following the high winds during Storm Emma.

In an announcement Irish Water say residents in the affected areas should not drink tap water under any circumstances as the contaminated supply can cause health issues.

Irish Water also say they have identified the source of the leak and they hope to have it repaired in the coming days.
