Thousands of social welfare recipients to get their €200 cash bonus this week




Welfare recipients are reminded that they will receive a bonus of 200 euros on their account on Monday.

The long-awaited bonus was originally announced by the government in February as part of the cost of living package, reports The Mirror.

This is the first of several bonus payments that will be paid out to select groups in the coming months.

Here’s everything you need to know about the €200 social bonus, including exactly when to expect it, who won’t get it, and the possibility of future bonuses.

When is it paid?

It is understood to start hitting accounts from Monday, April 24.

In a statement to RSVP Live, the Department of Social Protection confirmed the date of payment, saying: “The April cost of living payment is due to issue in the week commencing the 24th of April. This will be issued along with a customer’s main qualifying payment in this week,” reports The Mirror.

⁃ Resumption of activity allowance
⁃ Return to work family dividend
⁃ Payment of benefits for people over 65
⁃ Pension for the blind
⁃ Nursing allowance and nursing allowance (including half-price nursing allowance)
⁃ Community employment
⁃ Allowance and benefit for abandoned wives
⁃ Subsidy for Daily Expenses, formerly called Subsidy for Direct Elimination, for 12 months
⁃ Disability allowance
⁃ Disability pension
⁃ Home care allowance
⁃ Agriculture aid
⁃ Remuneration of the tutor (subject to contribution) and (non-contributory)
⁃ Sickness benefits from 12 months
⁃ Disability pension
⁃ Unemployment benefit for 12 months (312 days)
⁃ Temporary payment for job seekers
⁃ Payment for single parents
⁃ State pension (contributory) and (non-contributory)
⁃ Social assistance allowance for 12 months
⁃ Widow’s pension, widow’s pension or surviving partner’s pension (subject to contributions) and (non-contributory)

Will there be more bonus?

In June parents will receive a €100 voucher for Child Benefit and later this year there will be another voucher as part of the Back to School Allowance for Clothing and Shoes, reports The Mirror.
