Following a sentencing hearing earlier today, three ex-Anglo staff have been sent to prison after being convicted of fraud.
All three were prosecuted for attempting to hide information related to accounts connected to Sean Fitzpatrick, the bank’s former boss. Mr. Fitzpatrick himself is set to face trial in October.
The now prison inmates are Tiarnan O’Mahoney, the former chief operating officer, who has been given three years; Bernard Daly, the bank’s company secretary, behind bars for two years, and Aoife Maguire, a former assistant manager at the bank, who has been sentenced to 18 months.
All sentences are effective immediately.
