Three men all aged in their 20’s are due to appear in court this morning charged in connection with a high-speed chase in Co Carlow on Saturday night.
Its believed that three officers from the Gardaí were injured when a car refused to stop at a garda checkpoint on the N80 in Clonegal shortly before midnight on Saturday. It is then believed that a number of patrol cars pursued the vehicle through Ballon, Myshall, Garyhill and Fenagh, before the assailants stopped in Carlow town and reportedly rammed two of the garda vehicles.
The injured officers were taken to St. Luke’s Hospital in Kilkenny where they were treated for minor injuries. Gardai say that small amount of cocaine was seized at the scene. The three men in question were arrested at the scene and are expected to appear before Kilkenny District Court at 10.30am this morning.
