The Taoiseach Enda Kenny has reportedly claimed that he nor the rest of the Government have not seen any details of the proposed take-over bid of Aer Lingus by IAG.
Mr Kenny also says that the company who owns British Airways has not yet made a formal. Mr Kenny told reporters that he would need, a cast iron permanent guarantee on the airline’s connectivity, before the Government considers its position on any formal offer.
It is understood that there has been no decision yet on whether the proposed offer by IAG, believed to be worth €2.50 a share, which would value the airline at €1.3bn, will be accepted.
