On Wednesday night, there were complaints of a break-in at a house in Westmeath’s Ballynacargy neighbourhood. The Gardaí investigated, reports Breaking News.
The event occurred at around 5:00pm and a significant amount of jewellery was reported taken.
Later, as gardaí were on patrol nearby, they saw a car that was spotted departing the area.
Then many Garda units were involved in a controlled containment operation. Several individuals got out of the car and gardaí started to chase after them, reports Breaking News.
Gardaí then placed three guys, all in their 20s, under custody.
The guys are scheduled to appear at Athlone District Court on Wednesday morning after being charged.
