A Garda officer has been praised for his heroics after he rescued an injured dog near the Cliffs of Ardmore.
In a post on the Garda Traffic Twitter page, the dog named Bailey was rescued by Garda O’Callaghan after he was spotted in distress by a group of walkers in the area.
According to the post Bailey was found to have a broken paw when Garda O’Callaghan rescued him.
It is believed that the heroic Garda carried the stricken dog for over 1km before bringing him to nearby veterinary clinic.
Thankfully the dog has since been returned to his owner and he is said to be on the mend.
