Today’s the day! “Draconian” lockdown restrictions finally ease enough to allow retail reopen to the general public

It’s taken nearly 5 months but at last, we seem to have some light at the end of the draconian tunnel.

The Irish public have been absolutely pummelled over the past 5 months since Micheal Martin, Leo Varadkar and Eamon Ryan imposed Level 5 lockdown measures yet again on the country.

After last week’s resumption of inter-county travel, click and collect, garden centres, mixing with other people and Mass starting again, today sees in-shop buying will start again with thousands ready to hit the shops.

Hospitality and pubs however will likely not resume until the early and mid June, according to reports, but it’s a great start and hopefully that will be the end of the draconian lockdown imposed on the Irish public for months on end.
