A top doctor has said that Ireland is heading straight to 1,500 new infections a day by next month unless urgent action is taken.
Professor Philip Nolan, who is currently chairing the National Public Health Emergency Team (NPHET) warns of a ‘disastrous’ rise of coronavirus nationwide.
NPHET recently recommended a second national lockdown to curb the spread of the disease, but this was refused by the Government.
This ill-advised refusal is now likely to result in unnecessary hospitalizations and deaths.
