It’s understood that a number of tow truck firms who have been doing what’s being described as “dirt work” and “scum work” in removing cars that the PSNI have seized, have seen vehicles burned out and bricks through their windows at their premises.

The PSNI, like the gardai, have contracts with certain tow truck/recovery companies when they seize a car for whatever reason.

It’s been reported that a group known as the ‘New IRA’ have made stern warnings to a number of tow truck companies to cease such contracts or they’d face the same fate that others who had similar contracts have seen.
