There was some sad and tragic news released last night as one of the two teenage brothers seriously injured in a farming accident Co Carlow yesterday afternoon has sadly passed away.
Gardai confirmed the news after early reports suggested the young boy was 14-years-old was in critical condition in hospital. It is believed that the two boys were sitting on a trailer that was carrying out farm work when the accident occurred close to Ballon, Co Carlow. Gardaí say they believe the trailer went into a dike – or small stream – and overturned.
Meanwhile the Health and Safety Authority (HSA) have confirmed they are currently investigating the tragic incident. Gardaí also say the boy’s younger brother currently remains in serious condition in hospital.
