In a tragic ordeal, a baby girl who was just one month short of her 2nd birthday, was knocked down in the Phoenix Park yesterday.
Vanessa Siatka, Irish with Polish parents, travelled with her family to the park where along with many other families, they enjoyed the sunny bank holiday.
At approximately 6:20pm, two men were in a car which struck the child. She was taken to Temple Street hospital where her condition deteriorated and tragically Vanessa passed away in the early hours.
It’s believed the car failed to stop, but a short time later a 24-yr-old man was apprehended while the other fled and is still at large.
A tragic set of circumstances for one young family.
