Caroline Ahere, the 52-yr-old comedy star loved by millions around the UK and Ireland, died on Saturday in her home in Timperley, Cheshire in Greater Manchester.
She had told loved ones in May she was dying of lung cancer but her condition deteriorated quickly at her bungalow in Timperley, Cheshire during last week.
“It was too quick, we didn’t expect her to go. She wasn’t in a hospice. She was just at home. She left on her own,” a friend said.
In a statement Caroline’s brother Patrick said: “My heart is broken as I loved her so much. But she is now in a better place and most of all she has no pain.”
“I have lost a beautiful sister and the world has lost an amazing talent.”
