Authorities in the US have confirmed sadly that an Irishman and a woman from New York have died in a car accident.
It is understood the pair were killed in a two vehicle collision in Clifton Park, upstate New York.
Police investigating the incident say a man aged in his 50s, has been charged with aggravated vehicular homicide, two counts of vehicular manslaughter and driving whilst intoxicated.
Meanwhile the Department of Foreign Affairs have confirmed that they have been made aware of the incident and are currently providing consular assistance to the man’s family.
