The tragic trend of road deaths continues today, after an elderly motorist tragically died in a two-car crash near Ennis in Co. Clare.
The deceased, an 80-yr-old male who was a rear-seat passenger, survived the crash near the village of Cahercallamore but passed away in hospital a short time later. The driver and front seat passenger were taken to hospital with non life-threatening injuries.
The occupants of the second car, a man and a woman, were not injured.
