A six year old boy has sadly died after he was shot with a pellet gun in the UK police have confirmed.
The tragic incident which occurred in the village of Sproatley, on Thursday sadly seen the young boy lose his life despite the best efforts of medical personnel at Hull Royal Infirmary hospital.
According to Humberside police, the boy was seriously injured in the incident which occurred in Church Lane of the village at approximately 4pm on Thursday afternoon.
It is believed the boy sustained a serious gunshot wound believed to be that of a pellet gun.
Although the boy was quickly rushed to hospital police sadly confirmed that he had died a short time later.
Officers investigating the incident say an investigation is currently ongoing.
