There is numerous reports circulating this evening stating that two people have tragically died in an industrial accident in Portmarnock, County Dublin.
Reports also say that three fire officers were also taken to hospital but their condition is not thought to be serious. It is believed that emergency services were called at approximately 2pm this afternoon to attend to two staff members who work for drainage company Drain Tech, it is understood that two men were overcome with fumes whilst working on a drainage system in Drumnigh Wood in Portmarnock.
A spokesman for Dublin Fire Brigade has said that three ambulances and three appliances were called to the scene. The Health and Safety Authority say they have been informed about the incident and they will conduct a full scale investigation into the accident.
