Gardaí in Co Cavan have sadly confirmed that a man and a woman have died following a road traffic collision on Friday evening.
It is understood the pair were killed when the car they were travelling in collided with a jeep on the N55 at Ballinagh at approximately 7pm.
Gardaí say the driver of the jeep was taken to Cavan General Hospital as a precautionary measure.
They added that an investigation is currently ongoing.
