Tributes have been paid on social media for 26-y-rold Lee Early who tragically drowned after the car he was in slid into a pier on Árainn Mhór (Arranmore) off the coast of Donegal on Sunday morning.
Another man in the car survived the incident after he managed to swim to safety.
Lee Early worked on the Árainn Mhór ferry and was a volunteer on the island’s RNLI lifeboat.
It’s understood that the car was atempting a 3-point-turn when it slipped into the sea at 5.10am on Sunday morning.
Gardaí say Mr Early’s body has been removed to Letterkenny University Hospital where a post mortem examination will take place today.
