A young woman killed in a road crash in Co Donegal has been named locally as Donna McDermott from the coastal village of Greencastle, reports The Mirror.
She is the fifth person to die on Donegal’s roads in just 13 days.
Ms McDermott was killed when the car, in which she was a back-seat passenger, collided with another vehicle at Carrowkeel, Quigley’s Point at around 11.15pm.
Ms McDermott, who previously worked in the local Centra Store in nearby Moville, was in her 30s and was a very well-liked person locally, reports The Mirror.
It is understood the car was being driven by her mother at the time of the collision.
Two of the passengers, a gentleman in his 50s and a 70-year-old woman named Mrs. McDermott, were taken to Altnagelvin Hospital in Derry to get treatment for non-life-threatening wounds, reports The Mirror.
The young man in his late teens who was driving the second automobile escaped injury from the collision.
It’s thought that Gardai looking into the collision’s cause had already spoken with him.
With this new tragedy, the total number of fatalities on Donegal’s roadways in less than two weeks is now five, reports The Mirror.
