Tributes paid to woman (60s) after she sadly died after being struck by lorry




A woman in her sixties has lost her life after being hit by a lorry while walking in County Mayo, reports RTE.

The collision occurred on Rathbawn Road in Castlebar at approximately 9.55am Thursday.

She was pronounced dead at the scene by emergency responders, reports RTE.

The lorry driver has been brought to hospital for medical care.

The road was temporarily shut for a forensic investigation carried out by gardaí but has since been reopened, reports RTE.

Gardaí are asking for any witnesses to come forward, especially those who might have captured the incident on camera.
