Police in Britain have named the three girls who died in a fatal knife assault at a vacation club with a Taylor Swift theme, as their relatives paid respects to their “little girl” and “princess”, reports RTE.
Three people were tragically stabbed yesterday in Southport: Elsie Dot Stancombe, 7, Bebe King, 6, and 9-year-old Alice Dasilva Aguiar.
Due to legal concerns, the 17-year-old kid who was involved in the incident at the Hart Street dance studio cannot be identified. He is currently being held on suspicion of murder and attempted murder.
Along with two adults who were gravely hurt, eight other youngsters also sustained stab wounds, of which five are in critical condition, according to the police.
In a statement, Bebe’s family said: “No words can describe the devastation that has hit our family as try to deal with the loss of our little girl Bebe,” reports RTE.
They said: “Keep smiling and dancing like you love to do our Princess, like we said before to you, you’re always our princess and no one would change that. Love from Your Hero Daddy and Mummy,” reports RTE.
While the investigation is still underway, police have asked the public to refrain from speculating about the incident’s specifics. They have also stated that a name that has been circulated on social media in relation to the suspect is false.
The motivation “remains unclear,” but they are not considering the event to be tied to terrorism, reports RTE.
Yesterday evening, British Prime Minister Keir Starmer expressed his sympathies to the victims, their families, and friends after a police news conference, stating that “the whole country is deeply shocked”.
The community of Banks, which is outside of Southport, is home to the suspect. Yesterday afternoon, police blocked off a nearby road, reports RTE.
