Tributes pour in for husband and wife who were killed in hit-and-run in Blanchardstown, man (40s) arrested

Tributes have poured in for a husband and wife who have been confirmed as the two pedestrians who died after a hit-and-run in Blanchardstown in Dublin on Thursday evening.

They are named as 40-yr-old Anthony Hogg and 39-yr-old Georgina Hogg Moore.

Garda have announced that they have arrested a man following the incident near the Blanchardstown Shopping Centre.

It’s understood that a car hit four pedestrians who were crossing the road, on Blanchardstown Road North, around 5:45pm on Thursday.

Sadly, Georgina Hogg Moore was pronounced dead at the scene while Anthony Hogg was seriously injured, rushed to hospital and sadly later died in hospital.

No other injuries were reported from the incident.

A technical examination of the scene have been carried out and the road has reopened.

A car has been seized by gardaí and was examined and a man aged in his 40s remains in custody.
